Grape Trellis by Kathryn Welch

This was made for a customer who wished for a grape-themed insert for an antique, heavily-carved wooden door.  He wanted light to pass through but wished to block the view on the other side of the door (into his garage, egads), so I chose the leaf textured clear glass for a backdrop to my grapevine design.  The glass trellis in the design echoed the design of the wooden door. I chose to cut each of the 55 grapes from glass rather than to use glass globs.  This way I was able to choose different shades of purple to give depth to the grape clusters.
