The Peace

This is an original design loosely based on the Bible verse Isaiah 65:25. In this verse, many types of animals, representing nations that are typically enemies, live together in peace on God's mountain. It is a lovely promise that there will be a time when no human or animal will harm or be harmed.  I made my picture so that it extends beyond the mountain to the sky and bodies of water. I mixed in violent and peaceful animals along with the child petting the lamb.

The first picture is the final design I put on cards to hand out to friends and family. The second image shows a bit of the frame.  The third image is of the over 3 hour delicate solding job.  The last is an early sketch of the design.

This is made from multiple types of stained glass with a free hand cut copper foil overlay. I used a circular strip of aluminum wrapped in copper foil as my frame. 21" Diameter.
