RAYS FROM ABOVE (wall hanging)

Size: 9.5" x 22.5" with 4.5" bow. This project was built using a base of clear glass. The horizontal color paterns are made up of a combination of sand and glass frit and topped with a layer of clear glass. The three strips were placed on top of two horizontal strips of clear glass, one at the top and one at the bottom. First firing was full, stringers were fired on stainless tubes at the same time to create the curved flowing elements. After placing the curved stringers the project it was fired for the second time as contour. The third firing was a slump with the project placed on a stainless steel mold.
