My first stained glass project was a small panel. These 10 little beauties were my second project. I enjoyed designing and scaling this pattern which is about 4 inches wide and 5-1/2 inches tall. I chose to use clear glass for the 3 large pieces and on each one, the clear glass is a different pattern. I was able to use scraps and the same goes for the small pennant flag at the top.
I learned how to tack the pieces together and then provide a clean solder around the egdes as I finished each piece and placed a wire hanging loop at the top. I hand foiled each of the 40 pieces and finished with a nice polish of the glass and solder. These will be gifts for friends that visit me on the river where I get to see lots of real sailboats.
