The Guardian by Kathryn Welch

My interpretation of the mermaid of the San Marcos River.  Her tail does not end with a fin, rather it becomes the river itself.  The endangered Texas Wild Rice flows through her hair, and she gazes protectively at the endangered Blind Salamander.  Made of a combination of lead and copper foil construction.
