My dad and I took a stained glass class many years ago. We worked on many projects together. In fact, whenever I had a big project in the works, my dad would come over to work on it. His cuts and fits were so precise because of his tool and die background.
I started this fireplace screen about 4 years ago. My dad really wanted to work on it. Unfortunately, he could no longer do steps and my glass room is in the basement. His vision wasn't crisp and clear anymore. Myasthenia Gravis had taken it's toll on his health. I spent most of my free time with my dad, hence the reason it took 4 years to complete the screen.
Sadly, my dad is no longer with us, but I know he'd be proud of the finished piece. This fireplace screen was made and gifted in my dad's memory to my dear friend. My dad loved Tane' as another daughter.
I can't tell you any details of the pattern or glass because it's been so long since I started this project. There have been too many other priorities that took precedence over my glasswork. I apologize for not giving credit where credit is due. I will tell you that my friend loves it!
On a side note, my dad and I had our first fireplace screen published in the 2003-2004 Delphi catalog.
