The Prima Donna

This abstract spherical mosaic sculpture, titled "The Prima Donna," was created on a lightweight handmade substrate. This mosaic measures approximately 12 inches in diameter. To see more of my artworks, please visit Blackcatmosaics.com.

It contains layers and layers of features, including molten metallic paint, and thousands of hand cut pieces of stained glass in rich wine, purple and iridescent pink shades. It has unique hand cut glass "rocks" over reflective elements. The special glass "rocks" are handmade from the Youghiogheny Glass Company in Western Pennsylvania.  

This whimsical sculptural mosaic is one of a kind and is an extremely unique work of fine art. 

Because this mosaic contains unique reflective qualities, it looks beautiful and almost "glows" when it is displayed with focused, gallery-type lighting on it. It also looks beautiful in a sunny room with sunlight shining on it.
