Alaska Starry Night Mosaic - 12"x24" Glass and mirror mosaic

As my first mosaic, I combined two of my favorite subjects, my home state in the style of Van Gogh's "Starry Night."  The night sky became the Northern Lights, the cypress trees became the fireweed that is so prolific here, and the city became our mountains that are still topped with snow into the summer.  I have so much more to learn about this medium, but I love having all of the hard work (and sliver cuts!) pay off with something I am proud to hang in my house!
