This kiln formed glass pendant incorporates hand pulled murrini, fusing, & coldworking to create a one of a kind complex patterned piece.
Crafted over multiple firings, this piece starts as alternating strips of colored bullseye sheet glass stacked into a panel. The panel is heated, rolled onto a blow pipe, and once molten hot, is pulled into cane, using a classic murrine technique. Slices from this cane, revealing the pattern in cross-section, are cast in a mold, hand carved, tumbled for weeks, and fire polished to give it a uniquely soft satin luster.
This satin finish glass pendant is approximately 2 1/8 inch by 1 3/4 inch with a sterling silver bail 24 inch sterling silver chain.
