This kiln formed glass pendant incorporates hand pulled murrini, fusing, and coldworking to create a one of a kind complex patterned piece.
Crafted over multiple firings, this piece starts as alternating strips of colored bullseye sheet glass stacked into a panel. The panel is heated, rolled onto a blow pipe, and once molten hot, is pulled into cane, using a classic murrine technique. A slice from this cane, revealing the pattern in cross-section, is cast in a mold then shaped and polished by hand to highlight the beauty and intricacy of this unique piece.
This uniquely domed shaped bezel set pendant is approximately 1.25 inch in diameter with a depth of 5/8 inches, and hangs on a 28 inch vintage brass chain.
