This rose was made using the different shades of pink from the same large piece of glass to keep the glass the same throughout the flower, but to use the different shades of pink to draw out the rose petals. The piece was inspired by a friend getting married. I wanted to pull in as much of her wedding into the piece. She used roses throughout the wedding and her bridal party all had various shades of pink. I drew the rose using glasseye and wanted to add a bit more uniqueness of having the flower come out of the usual square frame.
She had a beautiful mantel piece in her house that lacked anything on it, so this piece was made to sit on the mantel where a light from above the mantel brought out the various colors and shades.
She loves the piece and shows it proudly in her living room now!
