This was made as a wedding gift for a couple who had a beautiful wedding in a gorgeous Catholic church. Christ was at the center of their relationship, so I wanted to make sure to incorperate that into the piece. Therefore I have the two hearts linked together wrapped around the cross. the idea for the design came to me after seeing a metal sculpture and I then drew it in glass eye. The bridal party had shades of purple on, so I made the hearts from one piece of purple glass, pulling out different shades of purple to make up the hearts. The cross was made out of a beautiful brown piece that had just enough hint of amber in it to look like wood. The background is one piece of glass to make a continuous back.
This piece was done in lead with hangers on the side so that the couple could hang it in a window in their home. It's about a foot wide by 2 feet tall.
