This wedding box was made to hold the rings of the couple it was gifted to. This way if they need to remove their rings after getting married, they had a safe and beautiful place to put them. The two orchid flowers were choosen because it is a unique and beautiful flower and that is the qualities of the two people who were married. The design was drawn on paper and then imported into glass eye so that it could be scaled down to a 2" x 4" lid and the lines smoothed out for such a small area. This tiny lid has 28 pieces in it, and attention was given to make sure that none of the glass was covered up with solder since it was easy to lose a piece from bridges made when soldering the little piece together. It uses a custom hinge that runs the length of the box so that it lifts easily and has stability to it.
The flowers are made from white and pink glass with green glass for the leafs. The rest of the box is made from a clear glass that has a hint of bubbles to it to give it a little characteristic.
