Whipped Cream

I finished a series of vases called "Splash."  They were made out of the end pieces of Spectrum clear glass made with lots of "holes."  I like holes because the light bounces around in them and through them.  I thought what would happen if one blank of Spectrum 96 clear was made with a bunch of holes and also painted with white enamels and another blank made with Spectrum 96 clear had pieces of Austin Thin Films dichroic embedded in it....and then you slumped both of them together.   I placed the two blanks on top of a stainless steel mold with a flat bottom and sloping sides, covered the mold with fiber blanket swirled into a shape, put a cut  piece of fiber board on top to make it flat, and finished it off with some thin fire.  Fired low and slow.  Worked pretty good except the bottom was not flat enough.  Ground the bottom flat and then realized I ground right through one of the layers!  How to fix the problem?  Measured the bottom and cut out 3 pieces of glass, two clear, and one layer of dichroic in the middle - a glass sandwich.  Fused this sandwich flat.  Used hXtal epoxy glue to glue them together, simply following the directions and using all the products required...alcohol, amino silane, and patience.  It worked.
