Serpent in the Forest (Florida Timber Rattlesnake)

31" x 22"    489 Pieces.  This piece depicts a Florida timber rattlesnake in a forest setting of local flora.  The browns and golds of the snake's coloration contrast sharply with the green foliage and background.  The high use of textured glass simulates the scales whereas this effect is magnified by using individual small pieces to construct the head. This original version was finished with a black patina.  Won Best of Show, Flagler County Art League, June 2015.
