Two Thrushes in a Dogwood Tree

This delicate piece is constructed on two planes - the clear background and setting sun form the base plane and the birds, flowers, and branches sit on top. The birds are thrushes, male and female and the foliage is a blooming pink dogwood. The use of clear antique glass with a hint of the sun's rays allowing to bleed through creates a quality of high transparency.  This is an original piece, 21" x 30" and constructed using various clear and transparent art glasses.  The piece is made with black-backed copper foil and black patina.
