Autumn Tree in Dappled Light

This stained glass panel was inspired by a piece of mottle glass that to me was a complete embodiment of the phrase "dappled light". It totally evoked a feeling of a crystal-clear golden sunny Autumn afternoon with the leaves quietly floating down from the trees. I decided to use the rough-rolled edge and make an opening in my panel, and cut the whole center portion out of a single piece of glass, so there was no room for error. To break it up a little bit, I swapped in a few leaves made of great piece of streaky brown and three agate geode slices. The tree is made of Wissmatch mystic purple glass and the gluechip frame gives a feeling of an early frost.

I made this panel using the copper foil or "Tiffany" style method - so no lead came was used. The seams are finished into shiny grey/black color. The panel has two loops on the top corners and is ready to hang. The dimensions are 16 x 27 inches.

I photographed this panel in different lighting to better display the glass that I used. Glass can look very different under different lighting, color changes can be very drastic. I try to provide photos in various lighting conditions to give people better idea of what my pieces look like.
