Transom

When I remodeled the little rickety porch just over the front door of this house, I found out that it had once spanned the entire front.  I later learned that a former resident, upon returning from a local bar, removed most of the porch with his car!  I redesigned the shed roof to a gable, and added a transom house number.  For this large window I used some antique ruby flashed glass, old and new jewels, and lots of sandblasting.  It was sheer luck that, with many other more pressing projects, I postponed this about five years.  In that time, for fire safety, the town decided to change all the house numbers....
