Description:
The Quetzal is an endangered bird in Central America. When I first learned stained glass, one of my goals was to create this. I make a lot of stained glass pieces to sell at craft shows, but when the pandemic hit, I decided it was my turn to make something for myself. I had become more confident in making my own patterns and drew a quetzal flying. My problem came with the green glass. I only had so much of it, so it ended up looking like a mountain, which works since quetzals only live above a certain altitude in cloud forests. I was able to use my glass saw so there wouldn't be too many lines drawn from the feathers. It measures 16" x 25".
