Nativity Scene

After purchasing the book Dimensions of Christmas 3 by Teny Nudson I was inspired to create the Heirloom Nativity.  In my 30 plus years of creating stained glass pieces I had never made a complete Nativity set.  Each piece is made using the patterns in the book but I never stop there.  I like to give every piece I make it's own personality.  That is what gives it my signature look.  Everyone of the pieces in this set is embellished with hand twisted wire and glass jewels and Swarovski crystals.  Each Wisemen and their camels coordinate with one another in color and are embellished with various jewelry making items even down to the silver chain I used for tassels.  I enjoy the tedious part of embellishing a piece or pieces like this one into something that stands out and makes its own statement of the artisan and their creativity process.
