Palm "Christmas" Tree

I made this tree for a friend who wanted a palm tree decorated with Christmas details for her friend who lives in Florida.  I used shards of opaque orange glass to look like palm fruits in order to hide the junction of the stem and fronds.  The dark amber textured glass was perfect for the trunk and the textured semi-opaque glass worked well for the fronds.  To make it a "Chrismas" palm I used 30 gauge wire with a knot at the bottom, added red, clear, and green baubles, and fashioned a loop at the top to hang the baubles. A special feature is the tiny hooks I made from wire and then soldered on the back of each frond tip.  This feature allows her friend to remove the Christmas baubles after the holidays and have a regular palm tree the rest of the year.  Or hang easter eggs, etc..
