Swirling blues

This 24"x 12" piece was made by using Oceanside and Wissmach Luminescent glass.  I started with a 2mm clear piece of glass and drew my central line.  From that line I just cut strips of glass in various shades of blue.  The glass was mostly transparent.  I overlapped all of the glass at least once during the designing of the piece.  I love the look of luminescent glass so I made sure I had a good amount of that glass on the top.  I cut up all of my luminescent scraps for the small pieces in the middle.  The third picture shows how I mounted the piece on the wall.  I bought some plastic extruded square tubes and glued a smaller size between the glass and the metal and larger pieces to the back of the metal.  This method is good because it allows the piece to hang flat against the wall.
