Branching Coral with Crab Diorama

Memories of snorkeling coral reefs and seeing the crabs around coral beds were the inspiration for this piece. Measuring 3" x 5" x 2.75", more than 50 pieces of taupe variegated glass were carefully cut, arranged, and fused to a flat then back to the kiln to get its unique shape. The 1” hand-blown crab sits near the branching coral. The base is made of two layers of glass.
