Pecky the red-bellied woodpecker

"Pecky" is a male red-bellied woodpecker that visited our deck railing daily for several weeks last summer (2022), feeding on the oranges and grape jelly that I put out for the Baltimore Orioles.  Happily they all agreed to share the bounty.  I was so enchanted by his beautiful colors and markings that I just had to immortalize him in glass.

This 10" diameter piece is comprised of lightly contour fused embellishments (bird, orange, large tree on the left, railing, millefiori dragonfly & lady bug) on a fully fused 6 mm (2 layer) base.  The smallish background tree on the right, the rim of the orange, and Pecky's body markings, feet & claws, were all painted on.
