The Night Blooms

“The Night Blooms” was fabricated using techniques involving the chemical reactions of colors and differing temperatures to form a deep and calming atmosphere in this fused glass Yucca design.  Based on French vanilla variable sized frits were added to achieve the reactions to build in complexity.   Variable delineation of diffused and strong linework was achieved by changing temperatures in each kiln firing for the blossoms structure.  Multiple layers of frits and powders in blues form the shifting and circular deep patterns within the surrounding rectangular background design.
