Cooling Volcano Plate

Black iridescent shimmers over orange glass on the top of this plate that is nearly 8 inches square. It looks like a volcanic eruption of lava that has cooled, but with a peek into its fiery depth. The black iridescent glass was shattered and then fused to the orange glass below. Then the entire piece was capped with clear glass to make it shine, and slumped into a shallow square dish mold. My pictures don't do justice to this wonderful piece. It can be used as a functional plate or as an interesting artistic piece to display.
