Diane Molesky - Unique Transparent Blue Dichroic Plate

My husband, Dan, and I recently took a fusing class from Val and are really enjoying ourselves!  After practicing with both transparent and opalescent glass, fusing and slumping on several different molds, I then attempted a slumped dish with CBS dichroic glass pieces.   This turned out fantastic. I used the 12 x 7 small rectangular slumper mold.   I began the project with True Blue transparent Bullseye glass, along with clear on the back.    After full fusing the two pieces of glass I then need to carefully choose which dichroic pieces would look best while trying to use as many different colors and textures as possible.  Roy, with his expert advice, was kind enough to suggest that I contour fuse the dichroic pieces to the glass before slumping it into the mold.  I had to be careful not to overlap the dichroic pieces too far otherwise I could run into issues.  I had to keep an eye on how the dichroic was fusing so I began watching around 1300 before a final fuse at a temp of 1380.  My final stage was to slump the glass for the end result.  This project took 3 firings and a whole lot of patiences.  After waiting for the kiln to cool down, I opened my Hot Shot 16G kiln and was elated with the outcome!   The dichroic plate turned out even better than I could have imagined! 

We appreciate all the help Val & Roy have given us with our new hobby and plan on making many more projects!
