Whimsical Waters

This tabletop water feature is made from fused glass and sheet copper. The fused glass is made with Bullseye cobalt clear blue as the base color and the mermaid is cut out of copper foil. I used black glass pen to create the scales on her tail, outlined her fins, and created the waves in her hair. I swept some yellow powder over her hair and then some copper mica swept over her tail. Then there is some flameworked twisties I used as some water plants, some adventurine green glass for some of the large leaves, a little red starfish cut out on my bandsaw, then some lime green and dicroic "buttons" floating around. There's gold and silver mica bursting out of her hands and some other random things in the waters that I played with to build on a whimsy feeliing. Bullseye clear was fused on top and brought just short of full fuse to maintain some texture for the water to bounce gently from here to there on the way down to the copper box. There is a small pump, that I did not make, circulating the water. This was a very playful piece and had fun.
