Borosilicate is a "hard glass" with a COE of 33 and a higher melting temperature than other glass. Flameworkers love this lower COE because it means your finished projects will have a higher resistance to thermal shock and allows you to create larger or more elaborate sculptural pieces. A propane and oxygen torch is needed to achieve temperatures high enough to make this glass easy to manipulate.
