Product Reviews
Pros
I LOVE THESE!!! I cut the 12" tiles into 4 piece to use in my kiln. They are perfect as I can still get my hands in when setting the tile down in the kiln. This allows me to set the tile in while keeping it perfectly flat. Nothing falls off, and I don't have to re-adjust anything before I close the lid! I have used them again and again and again. I have used thin-fire sheets on them for the most part, but find that after several firings there is enough of the powder left from the sheets that I can actually do several firings without anything. You go get a rougher back on the glass, but I don't care as most of my pieces I bead around so the back is covered any way. I have had the glass grab the tiles from time to time, so I would still recommend the thin fire. Using kiln shelves with kiln wash, etc. is just not my thing. I don't like having to re-coat the tiles again, and again. Also, I take my glass out when it is still pretty hot so these are great!
Cons
They are kind of messy...but that is the only negative I have. Of course, you can't use kiln wash with them as they can't get wet. But I prefer thin fire sheets any way.
Other Thoughts
Wish they made these for high fire ceramics...say to 2300 degrees or at least Cone 6.
Pros
If you have never fused with Wasser glass you are missing a real treat. After fusing the glass it is so much more vibrant than it looks before. This size is nice for small plate or bowl with solid border. Fuse over clear for more durability.
Cons
none
Other Thoughts
plan to make vase and frame.

I use it with clear glass to create Christmas Ornaments. The dichroic coating shows through on both sides so it's perfect for them.

Pros
this worked fine, was thick enough.
Cons
The heavy duty dispenser pack is a real waste of plastic. I'd rather pay less and have it in simple plastic bag like other foils.
Other Thoughts
Pros
I am not a pink person but I love this glass! I have sold every piece I have made with this almost immediately because it is so striking.
Cons
A little pricey but all reds are, well worth it. My only gripe is that it is not compatible so I can't fuse it with anything.

Pros
I use this system with almost every project I undertake. It allows you to score and break glass resulting in burr-free surfaces, which means less or no grinding, and much better foil adhesion.
Overall, it is a welcome and necessary tool for me.
Cons
The user manual is unnecessarily confusing. The graphics often conflict with the text, and I find that I'll be 3 pages in on a subject, and then find a paragraph heading saying "Read this First." One would expect that on the first page, *before* the settings are made as instructed by the previous pages. Also, there's lots of "choose explanation B" unless you are left-handed, then choose option C, skipping steps 8-12, but step 11 will tell you it must not be skipped, and must be followed by Option B. Really, a thorough re-write of the manual by someone other than the original author would help *tremendously*.
Other Thoughts
The kit includes an instructional CD to help you understand the written instructions. Inexplicably, the CD is an *audio* CD and not a video showing the techniques. Further, the audio is just a literal reading of the printed manual, which doesn't aid in understanding at all. How difficult would it be to use a video camera and record mpgs of the procedures?
All in all, I am glad I stuck through the learning curve for this system despite the confusing documentation. It really is a wonderful system to use, and is quickly becoming indispensable to me.
