Studio Pro 3/8 Breaker / Grozer Pliers

An essential, April 12, 2011 5 stars
Pros
I don't know how I lived without these. I love using the grozer side to nibble away at the edge of glass whenever it breaks wrong or I cut it a little too big.
Cons
Tends to fling shards of glass in every direction. You might want to wear glasses with these.

A decent cutter, April 12, 2011 4 stars
Pros
I'm tempted to say this makes a nicer score than my previous Toyo cutter. It feels comfortable in my hand.
Cons
I've never had problems with it leaking oil out the end where you fill it, but it deposits a LOT of oil during cutting, which makes a slippery mess for my fingers.

Exceptional coloring, April 12, 2011 4 stars
Pros
In addition to the dramatic wavy texture this gives to tack fusing, the green/magenta blue color does just what it says. You end up with undulating streaks of pinky purple accented with lime green and blue. Great visual complexity!
Cons
Like all ripple glass, it's hard to cut and hard to stack other glass on top of.

Pretty cool, April 12, 2011 4 stars
Pros
My mom used one of these in tack fusing and ended up with a gorgeous, no-fuss pendant that was quickly snatched up by a customer.
Cons
The circle developed a cracked, overcooked look in the kiln (maybe because the circles are for "microwave" use?)

Adore this, April 12, 2011 5 stars
Pros
If you love cool tones, you will love the purples, blues, and greens that characterize this glass. Overall, I'd say you should expect darker hues than those pictured--think teal-tinged hunter green, deepest purple, and ultramarine. It fuses to a smooth, sparkly finish that's just nuanced enough to keep me reaching for it again and again. A basic with just the right amount of oomph.
Cons

Adds great texture and visual interest, April 12, 2011 4 stars
Pros
Having seen what I thought were cabs capped in this on the CBS website, I first decided to fused this on top of black without a clear cap. Ick! But since then, I've tried this other ways and fallen in love with it. It adds terrific texture to tack fusing, especially when you pair it with a reed/fibroid and an untextured dichro at the same time. It also looks attractive inside a full-fused cab, though the resulting effect is pretty much the same as the crazing of DichroMagic glasses.
Cons
The texture is quite fine, not the rocky, chunky texture the greatly enlarged pictures imply.

A staple in my studio, April 12, 2011 5 stars
Pros
When you get this glass, it looks absolutely red with a silver sheen, but don't worry--it fuses to a gorgeous shimmery aqua! Pendants made of cabs featuring this glass sell like crazy.

A favorite, April 12, 2011 5 stars
Pros
This is one of my favorite dichros. It fuses to a silver sheen with hints of purple, blue and green. Because it's so nuanced, it looks great with almost everything else in my stash, especially cool tones.
Cons

A nice color, April 12, 2011 5 stars
Pros
This looks especially great with purple and green dichro. It's pretty true to the picture, maybe a touch less purple. I like it both for tack-fusing and as the bottom layer in cabs.
Cons

Has its uses, April 12, 2011 4 stars
Pros
This looks wicked cool in tack fused pieces.
Cons
I've had a lot of success using non-dichro clears as the bottom layer in cabs. I thought this would be especially nice, giving the cab both extra color and texture, but it just ends up looking black.

Recommended, April 12, 2011 4 stars
Pros
I like the star-like sparkle this navy blue glass lends to tack-fused pendants.
Cons
I'm addicted to using non-dichro colored glass as the bottom layer in cabs, so I had to give this a shot. You don't see any of the sparkle once you fuse on top of it, so stick to tack fusing with this.

A favorite, April 12, 2011 5 stars
Pros
I use this constantly as the bottom layer when full fusing. It looks great peeking out from beneath layers of blue dichro, especially blue silver.
Cons
Love the color, but it's not as pictured. The true color is less grey-blue than shown, really more of a deep blue turquoise.

Just gorgeous, April 12, 2011 5 stars
Pros
I use this glass for both tack-fused and full-fused pendants and Love it! It turns into a wash of semi-sheer, sparkly blue/bluish teal swirls in the kiln.
Cons
Other Thoughts
I believe the other reviewer when they say their piece of this glass looked nothing like the picture. I had a similar problem with another streaky glass I ordered and really think the wrong stock numbers sometimes end up on Delphi's glass stock.
