Tiger Thistle in a Fairy Fog

All my works are original, my own design. My inspiration comes from everyday things I see all around me, and as I work on each piece I come up with a short story. The finished product then becomes an illustration, a postcard, a mood snapshot.

This panel came out very Arts and Crafts.  A thistle made of an agate geode slice and three leaves are floating in a milky fog of a fairy forest.  The frame has two layers: a row of bevels and then a geometrical pattern made of glass that was left from the main panel.  The dark glass is a Kokomo Black, Purple, Cobalt Blue and Green Granite, and it has a lot of nice color variations which, unfortunately, did not come out in the pictures.  The orange mottle is spectacular and literally glows when hit by sunshine.  The background is a milky purplish color.

I made this panel using the copper foil or "Tiffany" style method - so no lead came was used. The seams are finished into shiny grey/black color. The panel has two loops on the top corners and is ready to hang. The dimensions are 14 x 23 inches.

I photographed this panel in different lighting to better display the glass that I used. Glass can look very different under different lighting, color changes can be very drastic. I try to provide photos in various lighting conditions to give people better idea of what my pieces look like.
