When cleaning out my mother’s home we found a stash of “family” embroidery patterns drawn my grandmothers/grandaunts. The patterns are all hand drawn of traditional Hungarian flower embroidery. I thought the patterns would make a wonderful transition to glass.
This panel is 10” x 10”. It is made with ~90 individually cut, polished, wrapped, and soldered glass pieces. The “stitches” around the flowers and the stamen are wire work on top of the glass. The entire piece is finished in a black patina. The total weight is ~1 lb 6 oz. The piece took approximately 20 hours to build.
