Hummingbird

This piece is another one of my several hummingbird studies. It all started with a careful observation of a tiny hummingbird nest and its inhabitants while camping in the Rockies one year. Ever since then I try capturing their beauty and grace not only in flight but when hummingbirds take their brief rests. This artwork is all COE 96 glass and powders. I created it as a small "fit anywhere" art piece with 5" width and height. It is set in a reclaimed wood frame.
