Piano Keyboard Sculpture

The Piano Keyboard Sculpture was a custom-designed piece for a piano student who wanted to give her teacher a farewell and thank you gift as he was moving out of the area.

The keyboard consists of 3 layers of glass. Eighteen pieces of black and white glass were cut and carefully fitted, fused and then formed as a wave during another fusing session. The rectangular stand consists of 2 sheets of glass that were fused to a slab and then draped to form the stand.

The gift was well-received. In fact, the recipient has placed it on his grand piano.
