  •   The Best strip cutting tool!

Pros : The Silberschnitt Pad comes with a rubber cutting pad. The tool is simple to put together and cuts strips of stained glass with little pressure.
Cons : I discovered the pad moved on my table, so I simply put a couple of damp paper towels underneath to hold it in place while I cut my strips.
Other Thoughts : The versatility of the Silberschnitt for cutting strips and circles, makes it a terrific buy!

Pros : I am in love with this tool, which has ended my struggle with cutting straight edges and getting 90° angles. I have to remind myself that I shouldn't cut every piece of glass I own into strips just because I have this fun, precise tool. Not being a particularly handy person, I appreciated how simple it is to assemble and break down the strip- and circle-cutters.
Cons :
Other Thoughts : The case this comes in is very handy and convenient. It's helpful to have this be easily portable.

Pros : The mat is nice backing for cutting glass and supporting it so it doesn't snap under pressure
Cons : the mat has a chemical smell that has not quite gone away and its been a couple of months

  •   Fantastic for strips

Pros : I use this regularly for strips and squares. They come out accurately every time! Easy to pack up and move off the workbench.
Cons : A little disappointed in the plastic parts. So far they are holding up well but if they had been metal I think this tool would last indefinitely!
Other Thoughts : I have not used the circle cutter as I already have a dedicated circle cutter

  •   cuts strips like a dream

Pros : straight cuts every time, rubber mat holds glass perfectly
Cons : none so far
Other Thoughts : I have not tried the circle cutter, as I already have a Silberschnitt dedicated circle cutter that is awesome, so unlikely I will use that feature on this one. I bought it for strips and it makes that task so easy now. No more little swerves or skips.

Pros : Love the strip cutter - we use it all the time and it works great!!
Cons : The circle cutter is a bit harder to use, -it is NOT their Pro model, it takes a steady hand -but for us was just a 'bonus' to the strip cutter anyway!
Other Thoughts : If you want to do lots of circles, look at other products that are easier to use!

Pros : With this device I've been able to precisely cut strips, even to a very narrow width. This is my favorite cutting tool for both stained glass and fused glass work.
Cons : The circle cutter does take some practice, but probably due to operator error. I've had better luck with this circle cutter than others I've tried.

Pros : you can pack it up and take it with you.
Cons : I have having a lot of difficulty using this. When trying to cut circles, the base easily moves out of place. I am putting too much effort in to trying to hold it tight. I have even tried using putty under it. I will keep practicing but so far, it isn't as easy as I thought it would be.
