  •   Great for glass cutting
By on
Pros : I was cutting on table with rounded edges, but then bought a very good T square so I needed height to grasp the raised edge.

  •   Assembly board
By on
Pros : Just the right texture to tap in horse shoe nails and pins.
Cons : None so far
Other Thoughts : Great product. I was using a softer product that just wouldn’t hold the frame pins. This is a perfect assembly board. Love it.

  •   Homasote board
By on
Pros : Works perfectly, especially with Morton layout blocks. Pins go in easy and they hold. I can easily assemble and solder on this board.
Cons : If I use the same pinholes over and over again, they begin to loosen up a little. I just Adjust the position of my Morton blocks.
Other Thoughts : Easy, easy! Love this!

  •   Much nicer than ceiling tiles!!!
By on
Pros : Larger size is great for most "home" projects. Easy to clean, just brush off with a softer brissel broom. Pin wholes don't seem to bother the texture, nice and thick to make projects to come out even. LOVE! LOVE!
Cons : Be careful with that soldering iron...it will burn pretty easily and quickly!
Other Thoughts : A great addition to our supplies. Much nicer working area to work on than ceiling tiles, although, it works pretty well, ceiling tiles just don't hold up as well.

  •   24" x 24" x 1/2"
By on
Pros : This board is great to work on. It's also gives me the opportunity to do different projects in individual boards and able to move them around.
Cons : Would like to be able to get specific sizes if necessary than just the biggest size being 24 x 24
Other Thoughts : Will always order more.

  •   Does the job
By on
Pros : Smooth and even surface
Cons :
Other Thoughts : I had to replace my other board due to unexpected basement flooding while it was in storage- this one is much more level than the last and am happy I had a reason to get this replacement. Helps protect my work table tops when soldering.

  •   A Necessary Option for Stained Glass
By on
Pros : Perfect size for most of my projects, can use thumbtacks to tack design down easy to work on with solder and organizing Framing is easy with this
Cons :
Other Thoughts : I have several of these boards to organize my projects as I work on them. I have the silver frames with thumbtacks to frame my piece (cover your design with clear vinyl, will protect it from water when you grind pieces) and then organizes your work and allows you to have several projects organized

  •   This product is a must have!
By on
Pros : I have used a Homosote board for all of my stained glass projects. It is light weight yet sturdy, it is the perfect item for pinning down your work for layout or soldering. I also pin my Sal Ammoniac block to the board so it won’t slide around while I clean my soldering iron tip. The Homosote board also has the ability to “Self Heal’ older holes so it can be used over and over.
Cons : Wish they came in larger sizes such as 3' x 2'
Other Thoughts : Worth buying - don't do a stained glass project without one!

  •   Just a little too dense
By on
Pros : Good surface to solder on, holds tacks securely
Cons : Hard to stick pins into, have to hammer tacks in
Other Thoughts : This makes a decent surface to work on, but it's a little too hard to use straight pins on. It can be done, but they're really hard to put in. And, the pushpins that come with the Morton system, well, I have to use the hammer to get those in all the way. Insulation board makes a much better surface. Also, I bought several sheets to cover a large surface with and found that they're not a uniform thickness, causing my work surface to be uneven. So, I'm going to find a big sheet of insulation board instead.
