Pros : Small and quick to fire, uses much less electricity and takes very little time. Perfect for a dorm or apartment. Useful for someone not wanting to spend a lot to get started doing fusing.
Cons : Small size, but this is also an advantage.
Other Thoughts : I bought this awhile back, and it sat in a closet for a few months. I've got a large Jen Ken kiln and a smaller 9" kiln that I use for bead annealing and smaller fusing. I've used the 9" kiln for making nuggets and jewelry, but sometimes I just want to test some glass reactions, or fuse some coarse frit to make nuggets or pieces of small jewelry. This is PERFECT for making nuggets...I can fuse coarse frit in 3 minutes, and within about 8 minutes it's ready to use. Previously I used the 9" to do the same thing, and it took about 2 hours. This is a time-saver and a conveniently portable little kiln. I'm taking it to my parent's RV rally in a few weeks to make custom jewelry pieces for rally attendees.
