Bullseye Thinfire Shelf Paper - 20-1/2 x 20-1/2 Sheet

Bullseye Thinfire Shelf Paper - 20-1/2" x 20-1/2" Sheet

Bullseye Shelf Paper, June 2, 2013 5 stars
Pros
The standard for shelf paper. I have used it for years. It cuts easily, performs very well, and can often be used twice, especially if the first firing is Tack Fuse. This saves a lot of money.
Cons
No cons.
Other Thoughts
The paper disintegrates so when cleaning the paper off the shelf, or sweeping up the paper bits that fly under the shelf, use a mask. Keep all scraps. They can be used many ways. Just do not overlap under a piece or you will end up with a crease in your piece after firing!!!

Jumping Bean Dish 3 1/8, May 23, 2013 5 stars
Pros
I have used it once. It is nice for using small scrap. Just some little decoration such as stripe makes it a nice dish. Can make very ornamental with right combos of glass. Good practice for elements of art on small scale.
Cons
None - sure it is small, but you know that before using.
Other Thoughts
None. I plan to use it more.
Uroboros Black Radium Iridized - 90 COE

Uroboros Black Radium Iridized - 90 COE

Item# U80-56I
Uroboros Black Radium Irridized, April 26, 2013 5 stars
Pros
This glass is heavy and strong and shapes very well when slumping. Cutting is easy. The glass is beautiful. Excellent for making sets of bowls/plates, etc. Doesn't need embellishments as glass texture and iridescence are beautiful enough to speak for themselves. Price is very reasonable for glass of this type.
Cons
None whatsoever, although I haven't yet used this stacked by other glass. The texture of this glass is pronounced, so any patterned stack on top of the glass might be wavy, etc.

Review Mosaic mesh, April 1, 2013 5 stars
Pros
My first use of mesh. Works great!! Up until now, I generally used indirect application via contact paper. This allows you to put the mesh over a pattern, draw the pattern on the mesh (with sharpie) then attach mosaic pieces with Weldbond or some other moderate nontoxic glue. Once you have the pieces glued to the mesh, you can lay the whole thing onto a prepared surface all at once.
Cons
No cons noted. A great timesaver and reasonable for its value. Give it a try.
Other Thoughts
When glueing pieces to the mesh, be sure to have a slick paper under the glue areas so it doesn't stick too much when done.
Wissmach White Opal 7 Circle - 90 COE

Wissmach White Opal 7" Circle - 90 COE

Item# 11808
Wissmach White Opal Glass, October 29, 2011 5 stars
Pros
Can't tell the difference between this glass and Bullseye in appearance "a real pro". Works equally well with Bullseye or Uroboros glass. Price is outstanding.
Cons
Other Thoughts
Go for this product. I have had no problems at all with this.

Triolyse Adhesive

Item# 77201
Triolyse Adhesive , August 28, 2011 2 stars
Pros
I tried to use Triolyse a number of times with mixed results (never know which will stick and which will not.)
Cons
Lack of confidence in product. Will it work or not. Typically won't know until I have tried it multiple times.

Neutralizer is Insurance, August 18, 2011 5 stars
Pros
Unlike other flux removers which is a cleaning compound but not a neutralizer, this product actually neutralizes flux which is acidic. If not neutralized or completely washed away, flux will attack glue on the foil and form a sort of thrush on the came. I have seen the thrush on a piece and it is disgusting. Soap is also a base element which counteracts the acid, so I use a mixture of soap and Neutra when cleaning after each soldering session.
Cons
None that I know of. Advertised as having no toxic properties.
Other Thoughts
After using to clean at end of session, be sure to rinse thoroughly, if not, the remaining Neutra on the piece will counteract the flux's acidity, and you will end up with a pool of solder that won't spread.

Van Gogh Glass, July 3, 2011 4 stars
Pros
I recently used four sheets of Van Gogh glass in a class I taught. They were cranberry, silver, gold and a mixed blue green. The actual colors are as vivid as indicated, and the glass scores and breaks evenly and nippers also do a good job in working with the glass.
Cons
Cutting or nipping very narrow strips (maybe 1/8" or 1/16") too often result in the backing falling off.
Other Thoughts
The glass is a nice addition to regular glass.

Flux Rating, June 21, 2011 5 stars
Pros
This flux has worked well for me, and probably is better than most.
Cons
Like all fluxes, this is an acid product. Use a base solution (soap and Neutraclean mixed with water.) Wash your hands thoroughly after handling.)
Other Thoughts
I need to stock up on flux. I will buy a couple bottles of this flux.
