PJ's Catch and Release Rainbow Trout

1 loves
Description:

I found a photo on the internet and it remined me of a dear friend of ours who is a fly fisherman.  I created a pattern from the photo and this is the result.  It measures 25 1/2" x 34".  My husband then made a log frame to compliment the piece.  I actually made this piece TWICE.  I had asked a professional photographer to take a picture of it.  There was a mishap and it was broken to pieces in the process!  The original window had 57+ broken pieces in it from the mishap.  I will repair it SOME DAY :)  So I chose to make it again.  Sorry about the picture quality.  Hope you like it as much as I do :)

Absolutely Stunning work ! Great attention to detail! I guess we have all have had that tragic experience of breakage after all the time, design work and of course not to mention the glass.A moving company broke a whole box of finished glass, needless to say I was heart broken and devistated. I saved it for a few years then thew it out.

@kellig It was definately terrible. I felt bad for the photographer. I was out of town and when he came to photograph it he decide to take it outside for better light. He got one picture of it (not very good) and then a gust of wind came along and blew it over! Besides entering it into the contest I wanted to use it as my feature piece this summer for my shows. So...made it again. The old one is leaning up against the wall in the garage. Someday...maybe. Just like you said, it's hard to even look at it. Thanks for your comment :)

lovely. great attention to shading. i can commiserate with you on the broken one! i had a piece i did for my door window at work, leaning against the wall, waiting for installation. a client knocked into it with her purse and it hit the ground and shattered. crushing. it took me about 4 months before i could even look at it to repair it, so i totally feel for you. congrats on the award, it is a beautiful piece.
