Tiffany Tree of Life - approximately 1200 piece, 31" x 34" panel

Based on a design found in a Dover publication book, redrawn and altered by my husband, this piece became a "family" project for a while as we helped him complete it. It took several of us well over a month of actual cutting, grinding and foiling full time to complete the piece. There are no words to describe the feeling when it was finally held up to the light for the first time. "Breathtaking" doesn't even begin to cover it!

Sorry for the delay in replying MrsJake, but we've had some health and family issues. I asked my husband what glass he used for the berries, but haven't gotten an answer -- my job was just to cut, grind, and copper foil pieces, not pick glass. :o) I do know it had raised bumps on one side. Thanks, CarolElaine and glssl vr - it was definitely a wonderful feeling when we first saw the light come through and yes, we cut every single tiny piece. Some were so small there was barely any peeking out from between the copper foil.

Ditto what CarolElaine said. My first thought actually was "OMG, no you didn't really cut all those tiny pieces!" The result is amazing.

I love that moment when you hold a finished project up to the light for the very first time too! This is so amazing and you should be so incredibly proud of yourselves - sooo beautiful!
