Description:
Birdwatching counts as a big part of my inspiration. This is my portrait of one of my favorite birds, Belted kingfisher, a funny looking, swift bird full of character and adorned by a distinctive "haircut". I work with COE 96 glass and for this artwork I combined bigger pieces to depict hard wood stump contrasting with softness of the bird's plummage - created all in powders. I like to add my stands as an integral part of the pictured scenes - here a real driftwood piece finishes off a waterside picture and adds another dimension to the work's realism. This is a free standing warm glass artwork, 13" wide and 9" high incl. the driftwood stand.
Material used:
- COE 96 glass
- COE 96 powders
- driftwood - red western cedar
