Video ideally would love to know how long you annealed and how do you complete this as an ornament.

Have tools on hand to cut warm/hot glass and use as components for future projects if ornament doesn't work out. Then glass is not wasted.

Be sure to thoroughly clean your piece before using. I use Dawn dish soap to clean all soldered joints, then let the piece dry before applying patina.

This is a excellent light weight kiln that facilitates more rapid temperature ramping than a traditional kiln.

The kiln developed cracks shortly after I started to use it. I believe that as the kiln wall expands it is compressed by the steel belts around the kiln. I spoke with the manufacturer who indicated this does happen; I sent pictures and they indicated it would have no affect on performance and after a year it has gotten no worse and I am very happy with the performance. One of the heating coils broke after about 3 months and the manufacturer was great about sending a replacement. I put a computer cooling fan under the controller to help keep things cool.

I found the texture of this glass to be so rough that I could not get a reliable cut. I expect the folks at Delphi had a similar issue as the piece I received was very irregular. If you want to work with this the best way is probably to use a saw.

Papyros is more hearty. I can often reuse this paper 3-4 times if I leave it undisturbed in the kiln.

I had to glue the semicircle and base pieces together to prevent any accidents. The diameter is more like 7-3/4” than 8” - makes a difference when making your piece.

I continue to be impressed with Delphi's packaging. I have ordered from them for years and have never had an item arrive damaged or broken.

Able to make 6 different baubles at once. Allows for testing amounts of frit in 1 firing. Definitely follow manufactures recommendations on quantity of frit if making earrings or will be way to heavy for ears.

Love this - As with all Delphi molds - came wonderfully packed it is very large and absolutely no damage whatsoever. Considering how much boxes get thrown around in shipping, very grateful that Delphi takes such care in shipping.
