Product Description

Finish your zinc projects to a lovely black color. Premixed and ready to use; 8 ounce bottle.

Delphi Tip: For best results, it's important to prepare zinc by cleaning thoroughly with flux remover and/or rubbing alcohol to remove any oil or other residues from the surface. Because any existing oxidation can contribute to an irregular finish, using brass wool or a patina buddy to scrub zinc surfaces is also beneficial. After scrubbing, it's important to rinse surfaces again and make sure they are dry before using patina.

Rose bevel panel created by artist, Steen Gaut. This panel was created using bevel cluster, item# GST121C. Glass used: B4114F, SBRCLR, and B141230.

  •   Don't bother

Pros : Price was right, but product doesn't work.
Cons : After all the Brillo scrubbing and cleaning I did - the product did not work. Now the piece looks awful. Sorry I used this. Splotchy, seems watery, not strong enough, or ineffective chemical

  •   Good but difficult

Pros : We get a great finish to our projects.
Cons : We found we have to rub our zinc frames thoroughly with steel wool and then generously wash the entire piece before applying patina. We start with solder patina on the solder lines first and then finish with the zinc patina on the frames. Let it dry good before waxing. Extra long process but if piece is cleaned well the patina works great. We apply with a white nylon pad and rub patina in well. It does have a mind of its own at times.
